Stain-proof sealers. In most cases, we recommend sealing marble and granite with professionally applied penetrating sealer. Natural stone is typically the last countertop you’ll buy. A quality sealant should offer a life expectancy of 10 to 15 years. It should also resist water and oil-based stains, everyday dirt, and spills.
We’re proud of the 1950s home that we helped redefine and redesign. Our team fabricated two-inch-thick Italian Carrara marble that complemented the bleached white oak in the kitchen. We used that marble as both a countertop and as a full-height slab backsplash. We also created a custom island with cascading marble legs—both functional and beautiful. The same Italian marble was used throughout the master bathroom.
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling seems to be gaining momentum. More and more people are choosing to remain in their homes. The updates Birmingham MarbleWorks LLC offers help make their homes and daily lives more enjoyable.
When considering countertops, owner Dan Weingarten suggests historically-accurate materials like Alabama or Italian white marble, limestone, and soapstone. He suggests choosing classic designs—subway-shaped tiles and mosaic tiles are available in many colors and stone types.
Natural stone is a timeless home investment and thus exempt from trends. “Timeless” may be overused, but at Birmingham MarbleWorks LLC, we believe it’s true. The customers that invest in marble and fine stonework aren’t looking for something they’ll have to replace in a few years.
